Why Do Awards Matter in Later-Life Care?

Choosing a care home for yourself or someone you love is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. It requires trust, and trust is built through transparency. Industry awards and independent recognition offer families a meaningful, objective benchmark when evaluating the quality of care a home provides.

At KYN, we don't pursue awards for their own sake. The recognition that follows reflects what our residents and their families experience every day: personalised care delivered with love, respect and expertise in thoughtfully designed surroundings.

What Awards Has KYN Won?

Lottie Awards 2026

KYN has been named one of the UK's Top 10 Small Care Providers at the Lottie Awards 2026. Selected from over 14,000 UK care homes, the award recognises excellence across quality of care, operational standards, digital impact and workplace culture.

KYN Bickley has been named one of the UK's Top 100 Care Homes at the Lottie Awards 2026, and recognised in the Top 10 for Facilities. Selected from over 14,000 homes nationwide, the award celebrates excellence in care quality, resident experience and environment.

Care Home Awards 2026 - Outstanding Smaller Care Home Group

KYN was named Outstanding Smaller Care Home Group at the Care Home Awards 2026. The award recognises exceptional, person-centred care and life-enriching daily experiences across KYN's homes. This is reflected in personalised nursing, dementia and palliative care delivered within a warm, dignified environment – helping every resident live well, with comfort, genuine choice and the highest quality of life.

Vanessa Maria Czirkovits, Deputy Home Manager at KYN Hurlingham, was named Leader of the Future at the Leading Women in Care Awards. Vanessa leads in a way that the social care sector needs more of. She notices the small changes others might miss. She advocates fiercely for residents. She supports and coaches her team while holding high standards. Families feel safe speaking to her. Colleagues trust her judgement. Even in the most emotional or pressured situations, she remains steady and reassuring. Vanessa represents the future of care leadership, she is compassionate, clinically strong, emotionally intelligent and deeply values-led.

And to Ron Sini, Highly Commended in the Dignity in Care Award, for the compassion and respect he brings to his role. A proud moment for the whole team, and a reflection of the standards we strive for every day.

Care Home Magazine – Care Home of the Month (February 2026)

KYN Bickley was named Care Home of the Month for February 2026 by Care Home Magazine for its care model built around continuity, dignity and whole-person wellbeing.

The recognition highlighted how KYN Bickley has responded to sector-wide pressures such as workforce shortages, rising complexity and growing family expectations. At the heart of the approach is high in-house staffing, so that teams can spend unhurried, meaningful time with residents and families. No agency cover filling gaps. Just familiar faces who know each resident by name.

2026 Spear's Wellness Index – Best Later Living and Retirement Homes

In January 2026, KYN Hurlingham was included in the 2026 Spear's Wellness Index of Best Later Living and Retirement Homes. The index is a trusted guide for families seeking high-quality retirement and care homes, and inclusion reflects a home's ability to excel in healthcare, personalised support and resident wellbeing.

2025 Knight Frank Luxury Care Home Award – Best Care Home Renovation

We are proud that KYN Hurlingham received the Care Home Renovation Award from Knight Frank, recognising the highest quality hospitality and care services in a prestigious setting. The restoration of this landmark Victorian building was made possible by the creative vision of our design partners – Nina Campbell, Randle Siddeley and Adam Ellis – alongside our own KYN team.

The result pairs the original Grade II listed Gothic revival architecture with a contemporary rear extension, giving the building a new purpose while respecting its history.

Royal College of Nursing London Rising Stars Award (2025)

In December 2025, KYN Bickley team member Carolyn Kaira received the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) London Rising Stars Award. Carolyn was nominated by our Home Manager, Daisy Slavkova, following heartfelt and consistent feedback from residents and their families – particularly within our household of residents living with dementia.

Cora Phillips Award – Finalist (2025)

KYN Bickley was recognised as a finalist for the inaugural Cora Phillips Award in May 2025. The award is an initiative led by the Bromley Dementia Friendly Community, celebrating organisations across the borough who go above and beyond in supporting local people living with dementia.

Being among the finalists highlights KYN Bickley's dedication to resident wellbeing, community engagement and excellence in dementia care. It reflects our belief that every person living with dementia deserves to be treated with dignity, individuality and joy.

What Does This Recognition Mean for Our Residents?

Behind every award and accolade is a story of real people – our residents, their families and the team members who care for them. The warmth of a carer who knows every resident's routine. The chef who remembers a favourite dish. The enrichment team who bring genuine joy to each day. That is what these awards reflect.

For families considering KYN, our recognition offers reassurance that the standards we set for ourselves are validated by independent experts. For our residents, it is a promise that the care they receive will always be held to the highest standard.
